Pressure Washing in Sussex, Surrey & Kent

Over time, patios, driveways and pathways accumulate layers of dirt, algae, moss and lichen that make them look tired and can become dangerously slippery. Professional pressure washing transforms these outdoor surfaces, restoring them to look as good as new and making your property's exterior truly presentable again. Whether it is block paving covered in weeds, a concrete drive stained with oil, or a patio green with algae, we have the equipment and know-how to bring it back to life.

The MD & CO team have been pressure washing driveways, patios and paths across Sussex, Surrey and West Kent for over 13 years. As a family-run business, we take genuine pride in the results we deliver. We use commercial-grade petrol pressure washers with adjustable settings, so we can tackle everything from tough concrete staining to delicate natural stone without causing damage. Our before and after photographs speak for themselves — the difference is always dramatic.

    Our Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Free Assessment & Quote

Send us a few photos of the area you would like cleaned, or we will pop round in person. We assess the surface type, the level of soiling, and the total area to provide an honest, no-obligation quote.

    Step 2: Preparation & Protection

On the day, we start by clearing the area of loose debris, furniture and plant pots. We protect any nearby plants, paintwork or delicate surfaces with sheeting. Drains are covered where needed to prevent debris from entering the system.

    Step 3: Pre-Treatment

For surfaces with heavy algae, moss or stubborn staining, we apply a biodegradable pre-treatment solution. This loosens organic growth and breaks down stains, allowing the pressure wash to be even more effective.

    Step 4: Pressure Washing

Using our commercial-grade equipment with the correct nozzle and pressure for your surface, we work methodically across the entire area. Flat surfaces are cleaned with a rotary surface cleaner for an even, streak-free finish. Edges, steps and details are done by hand lance.

Step 5: Re-Sanding, Repointing or Sealing

If you have opted for re-sanding (block paving) or repointing (slabs), we carry this out once the surface is clean and dry. We can also apply a protective sealant to guard against future algae growth and staining.

    Step 6: Final Tidy & Before/After Photos

We sweep up any displaced debris, replace furniture and pots, and remove all our equipment. Before and after photographs are taken so you can see the full transformation — and share it with the neighbours.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Will pressure washing damage my paving?

No — we carefully select the correct pressure setting and nozzle type for each surface. For delicate materials such as natural stone, sandstone or older brickwork, we use lower pressure or soft wash techniques to clean effectively without causing damage.

Do you offer re-sanding or repointing after pressure washing?

Yes. Pressure washing can dislodge loose joint sand, so we offer kiln-dried sand re-application for block paving and mortar repointing for slabs and brickwork. This stabilises the surface and helps prevent weed regrowth.

How do I keep my patio or driveway clean for longer after washing?

We can apply a sealant after cleaning which protects against algae, moss and staining for up to two years. Regular sweeping and an annual maintenance wash also help keep things looking fresh between deep cleans.

How long does pressure washing a driveway take?

A typical driveway of around 30 to 50 square metres takes roughly 2 to 4 hours depending on the level of soiling and the surface type. Larger areas or heavily stained surfaces may take a full day.

Can you pressure wash decking without damaging the wood?

Absolutely. We use a low-pressure fan nozzle and work with the grain of the wood to remove algae and grime without splintering or raising the timber. We can also apply a decking oil or treatment afterwards for added protection.

What areas do you cover for pressure washing?

We cover Crawley, Brighton & Hove, Horsham, Redhill, East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Uckfield, Oxted, Croydon, Kenley, Warlingham and the wider Sussex, Surrey and West Kent region.

Do you need access to water and power?

We just need access to an outside tap. Our professional pressure washer is petrol-powered, so we do not need a mains electricity supply. If there is no outside tap, we can usually work with an indoor tap using a hose adapter.

    Is pressure washing environmentally friendly?

We use plain water at high pressure for most jobs, which is the most environmentally friendly method available. Where we do use cleaning solutions for stubborn staining or algae, we choose biodegradable, non-toxic products that are safe for gardens and pets.

The transformation from a single pressure wash session is remarkable. See real examples of driveways, patios and paths we have restored in our Before & After gallery.
